Job search and volunteering

We believe employment is a route to self-worth and self-esteem. We can help you improve your employability, find work and/or volunteering opportunities.

There is a lot to think about when you’re looking for work – from your skills and abilities, all the way through to getting the job that you want. If you need support finding employment we can help you every step of the way.

Support finding volunteer positions

We have great relationships with the voluntary sector in and around East Sussex, so can help you find voluntary work. Voluntary work will help you gain skills, confidence, increases self-esteem and knowledge of a work environment without the pressure of committing to part or full-time hours. We recognise flexible hours are needed and wanted by some of our clients, and in time hours can be increased and paid employment achieved if our clients wish. There may also be paid opportunities within the organisation you’re volunteering for, with the experience of being in a voluntary post equipping you with the knowledge needed to apply for posts.

Support with criminal disclosure

We understand that criminal disclosure is a difficult and sensitive issue. R.E.S staff have been trained in when and how to disclose a criminal record and levels of disclosure for different work roles and eligibility for DBS checks.

We believe that previous mistakes can be reversed so people can enjoy a fulfilling and rewarding life.
